Organic Geochemistry labs

I am the head (2023-onwards) of the Organic Geochemistry laboratory at the University of Southampton. Our lab hosts a variety of instruments designed to characterise organic matter from the environment and the geological record. The facility has dedicated sample preparation lab, wet chemistry lab space, and an instrumentation lab utilizing state-of-the-art gas chromatographs (GC) linked to various mass spectrometers, including a GC-isotope ratio mass spectrometer. We recently aquired a new single quadrupole liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (LC/MS) to analyse GDGTs. For further information, please contact Dr Gordon Inglis or our lab manager, Dr Sargent Bray.
