‘not every disability is visible’ campaign

In 2019, I worked alongside the University of Bristol ED&I Committee to install accessible toilet signs throughout the School of Chemistry. This is because many people with hidden disabilities can feel stigmatised or are directly challenged when using accessible toilets.

This was inspired by the @CrohnsColitisUK campaign to change accessible toilet signage across the UK.

Visability93

Accessible services are identified by the International Symbol of Access (also known as the wheelchair symbol). However, 93-95% of people with disabilities are not wheelchair users.

Visability93 is a design project and aims to create symbols which are inclusive of all disabilities, visible or invisible.
